Another Day . . .

Well, after our big storm on Sunday, the schools have been shut down. This is Lizzy's second day of no school.
They have finally started to get the roads all cleared. The main ones anyway. The side streets are aweful. They slushy and snow packed and very difficult to drive on. Thank goodness we had brand new tires put on the van on Friday!
So, since school has been cancelled for the past two days, the girls have gotten to play in the snow a lot. Mikki buried Lizzy
and then Lizzy buried Mikki in the snow. They tried to build a snow man, but it has since tipped over from the sunshine and wind. Hopefully school will be back on tomorrow. We will have to wait and see.

Cancelled . . .

Well, today is Sunday and everything in Kennewick is at a stand still. We got a freezing rain storm yesterday. At 10 p.m. last night there was 1/4 inch of ice on the roads. Our phone started ringing around then and we found out that our Church Leaders here in Kennewick cancelled all churches today because of the ice. Bo and I were especially excited about this. Bo more, since he was supposed to teach the Gospel Doctrines Sunday School class and had diligently planned his lesson out! When we got up this morning it was snowing and is still snowing. I don't think to many people are going to venture out today on these roads and in this weather. I guess it is a movie day in our house today! Stay warm and safe out there in this winter weather! Love to all!

Roofus

Our little dog is named Roofus. He is adorable and we just love him! However, Brylee loves him a little too much. She covers him with blankets and always tries to figure out where his hiding places are so she can find him. Roofus sleeps with me and Bo and gets underneath the covers. He is kind of like a hot rock under there that keeps us warm on these chilly nights! Anyway, since Brylee loves Roofus soo much, here is a picture of him with a blanket on. She put this blanket on him while he was lying on the floor upstairs and then he wandered around the house with it on him. It was actually very cute! We love our little dog!

Columbia Park

Saturday we went to the park with the girls. There is a little pond down in the middle of Columbia Park next to the Columbia River. At this little pond there are ducks, geese, etc. There aren't just a few, there are several.
The first time we went, they came right to the van to see if we had any food. I hadn't taken enough with us. So, on Saturday we took Bo down to the park to show him our little spot. This time we took left over pancakes and the rest of a loaf of bread that I was going to throw away. Bo couldn't beleive how they just walk right up to you. The girls thought it was AWESOME! Brylee really got into throwing them something to eat. However, she didn't realize that you needed to break it up into smaller pieces. She was throwing them half a pancake at at time! That is the joy of taking your kids to the park.
We didn't stay for too long. It was cold here on Saturday, but it was still something to get us out of the house and spend time together as a family!

Mouse in the House

Well, yesterday, I brought a box of cereal in the house from out in the garage. When I opened it, I noticed that the bags had holes in them from where a mouse had gotten in. I told Bo, and was like what the heck. We thought we had gotten rid of all our mice! Well, I leaned the box closer to Bo so he could see the holes in the bags, and a mouse jumped out of the box. Know, when I say jumped out of the box, I mean he jumped straight up in the air and flew towards Bo. We both started freaking out!!! The mouse ran in the front room and then back to the computer room and then back towards the kitchen. We trapped it behind the curiou cabinet, but then Bo had to be to work and I had to take the girls to school. When I got home, I couldn't see him anymore. I walked in the front room and noticed that I had left the front door cracked. We put up traps last night and when we got up this morning, nothing, not even a nibble on the cheese. We did however, catch one in the garage. I hope that leaving the front door cracked, he let himself out! It was quite the day yesterday! There was definately a lot of excitement!!

Haircuts . . .

Well, I am by far the worst mom ever in keeping up with haircuts! My girls have gone for months without a haircut. Well, we finally had haircuts all around just this last week. Mikki loves to get her haircut. However, she has a tickle spot on the back of her neck so every time Carrie (our hair sylist) would run her comb over that spot, Mikki would giggle and lift her shoulders. It was adorable. Brylee was next. She thinks she is such a big girl. She just wants to do everything her sisters are getting to do. Mom was next with 3 inches cut-off and blonde highlights. Lizzy was last with just a trim. I think when they get their haircut, they are more adorable. Mikki and Brylee had a lot of hair cut off this time around. I like to keep it short. It makes mom's job of doing hair every morning a little easier!

Take this test!

You're a bold, confident orange. A warm, powerful color that indicates a strong, welcoming personality, orange is the mark of people who are social and extroverted by nature. Vibrant, with an upbeat attitude, you have a bright, inviting demeanor. Energetic and fun-loving, you're a real friend-magnet. Your easy charm and unassuming manner make you the sort of person people want to meet and get to know better. Well-rounded and fun to be around, you enjoy helping others, so it's no surprise that orange also symbolizes attraction. Orange is an extraordinary color — for an extraordinary person.

Snow, Snow, Snow . . .

We woke up to SNOWthis morning!!!
You have to understand that where we live in Washington, we hardly ever get snow. The last time we seen snow like this was probably 4 years ago.
The kids went to school and there were no delays. We are very excited to see the snow, although, I hate to drive in it. It is a good thing I just had to take the kids to school and drop them off. I have a friend who brings them home. They are predicting even more snow and then possibly rain. That could create problems if it rains and then feezes!

Buddy Bear

Not much exciting has been happening with our family. The girls went back to school and we have started getting back into a routine. Mikki was very excited to go back to school on Friday because she was sure that she was going to get to bring Buddy Bear home for the weekend. Buddy Bear is a stuffed bear that our preschool teacher uses. Each child in her class gets a turn to take buddy bear home. Sometimes it is just for one night, but in our case it was for the whole weekend. Mikki was soo excited when I picked her up on Friday. Buddy Bear is a highlight to get to bring. There is even a book that you can write in and let everyone know what fun you had with Buddy Bear. So, here are a few pics of Mikki with Buddy Bear! It was a great weekend and I am pretty sure that someone had a birthday and turned the BIG 30!!!

Dress Up

One thing our girls have always loved to do is dress up! They can imagine any outfit that we have clothes for. Anyways, here are few pictures of our girls playing dress up. The most recent are of Brylee from just a couple of days ago. She put on this little dress that is meant for a cabbage patch doll. Isn't she adorable! Enjoy!
